Frequently Asked Questions
-
We’re opening on February 1, 2026.
-
A membership gives you independent access to the studio — perfect if you already have some pottery experience and feel comfortable working on your own.
If you’re totally new to pottery, no worries at all! You’ll just want to take a class first (or along with your membership) so you can learn the basics and feel confident and safe in the studio.
-
As a member, you’ll be able to join classes alongside your membership and stop taking classes whenever you’d like. Members also receive a discount on classes.
Just to clarify: class students only have access to the studio during class time and can’t stay to work independently. If you’d like studio access outside of class, I recommend signing up for a membership, and then adding classes or workshops if you’d like extra guidance.

The current plan is to provide each member with a small cubby for storing personal tools and clay, while in-progress work will go on shared shelves. We’re still finalizing details, so this setup may evolve as we move forward.
-
Each member is allotted up to 50 lbs of studio clay per month. Please note that clay is not included in the membership fee, and outside clay is not permitted in the studio. Unused clay allotment does not roll over to the next month.
Studio clay (25 lb bags) ranges from $30–$50, depending on the type.
-
No, there’s no minimum number of months required. We just ask for a 30-day notice if you decide to cancel your membership.
-
Your membership rate is expected to stay the same for the next couple of years as long as your membership remains active. After that, we will adjust membership fees with advance notice provided.
-
We’ll have white, brown, speckled, and buff stoneware, Bmix, porcelain, and Black Standard 266 available for purchase. As we grow, we’ll likely add more options. Please note that clay is not included in membership, and outside clay cannot be brought into the studio.
A 25 lb bag ranges from $30–$50, depending on the type.

We will be a Cone 6 studio!
-
Yes! We'll be making about 20 different kinds of studio glazes to start!
You're welcome to use your own commercial glaze once it's approved by the studio. -
Yes! A qualified Clay Table associate will be loading and unloading kilns, as well as firing all work for members.
Membership and clay fee include bisque and glaze firing with a monthly limit. Large pieces will have an additional fee.
-
We will have 20 wheels. 10 wheels in the class area and 10 wheels in the member area. There will be a members work area, so even during classes, members will have plenty of space to create.
When there's no class or event, members can also use the equipment in the class area. -
Sorry, not at the moment!

From what I’ve seen so far (I’m still getting to know the area myself), there is some street parking on Brookline St. and Sidney St., a metered parking lot by Green/Pleasant St., parking on Pleasant St. and Franklin St. near Enterprise, and parking on Bishop Allen Dr. There’s also a large public lot behind H Mart with up to 4-hour metered parking, as well as a few nearby paid garages. As I learn more, I’ll be sure to share updates.
