Membership Basics
What is a membership?
1
Our studio operates as an independent membership studio. Members are expected to be comfortable working on their own without ongoing instruction.
If you are new to pottery or not yet comfortable working independently, we recommend taking a class before beginning your membership.
What’s the difference between classes and membership?
2
Classes are instructor-led and provide structured guidance during scheduled class times. Class students have access to the studio only during their class and cannot stay to work independently.
Membership, on the other hand, provides ongoing studio access for independent work. Members are expected to feel comfortable working on their own and may choose to add classes or workshops for additional instruction. Members also receive a discount on classes.
3
Is there an age requirement for membership?
Yes. Our studio operates 24/7 and does not have a studio manager on-site at all times. For this reason, studio memberships are available to individuals 18 years of age or older only.
No, there’s no minimum number of months required. We just ask for a 30-day notice if you decide to cancel your membership.
Is there a minimum membership commitment?
4
Membership fees are billed automatically on the 1st of each month using the credit card saved during the onboarding process, when the membership security deposit is paid.
Full details are provided in the Membership Agreement, which you review and sign during onboarding.
5
How are membership fees billed?
Your membership rate is expected to stay the same for the next couple of years as long as your membership remains active. After that, we will adjust membership fees with advance notice provided.
How long is my membership fee locked in?
6
At this time, memberships cannot be paused.
If you choose to end your membership, you’ll be placed on our Returning Member Waitlist, which will be shorter than the general waitlist. (This is the system we used at our previous studio, and we’ll be doing the same here.)

studio access & space
What are the studio hours?
1
Members have true 24/7 access to the studio using a studio access fob. You can come any time, any day to work.
Is there parking?
2
Street parking may be available on Brookline St. and Sidney St.
There is also a metered parking lot near Green St. and Pleasant St., as well as additional parking on Pleasant St. and Franklin St. near Enterprise, and on Bishop Allen Dr.
A large public lot behind H Mart offers up to 4-hour metered parking, and there are also several nearby paid garages.
We have 20 wheels: 10 in the class area and 10 in the member area. There is a dedicated member work area, so even during classes, members have plenty of space to create.
When there is no class or event in session, members may also use the equipment in the class area.
How many wheels are there in the space?
How many are reserved for members?
3
Can I reserve a wheel?
4
We do not currently operate a wheel reservation system.
If we determine that a reservation system becomes necessary in the future, we may implement one at that time.
Each member is provided with a small cubby for storing personal tools and clay, while in-progress work is stored on shared shelves.
As the studio continues to grow, storage arrangements may be adjusted as needed.
5
Is storage provided for members?
CLAY
Each member is allotted up to 50 lbs of studio clay per month.
Please note that clay is not included in the membership fee, and outside clay is not permitted in the studio. Unused clay allotment does not roll over to the next month.
What is the monthly member allotment?
1
How can I purchase clay?
2
Studio clay is sold in 25 lb bags. Available clay bodies and current pricing can be found on the Clay page in the top menu.
To help us track inventory accurately, clay must be purchased while you are at the studio and ready to pick it up. We ask that members do not purchase clay in advance.
GLAZE & FIRING
Do you offer studio glazes?
1
Yes! We offer approximately 20 different studio glazes.
Commercial glazes may be used once approved. Members can submit the Commercial Glaze Approval Form through the Member Portal.
What temperature do you fire your kilns to?
2
We are a Cone 6 studio.
Yes! A qualified Studio Manager loads and unloads all kilns and handles all firings for members.
Membership and clay fees include bisque and glaze firings, subject to a monthly limit. Glaze refiring and oversized pieces (any piece measuring 10 inches or more in any direction) may incur an additional fee.

STUDIO POLICIES & REQUESTS
The Member Portal is a dedicated space for members to access studio policies and submit forms, including the Commercial Glaze Approval Form, Guest Visit Request Form, and Membership Cancellation Form.
The password can be found on the studio bulletin board.
Please note that clay purchases are not made through the Member Portal. Clay can be purchased through the Clay product page on the website.
What is the Member Portal? I forgot the password.
1
Yes! Members may request a guest visit by submitting the Guest Visit Request Form (through the Member Portal) at least 7 days prior to the intended visit date.
Each member may bring 1 guest for 1 day per month. Guest visits must be confirmed by the studio before the guest may attend.
Host members are fully responsible for their guests and for ensuring that all studio guidelines are followed during the visit.
